Officers: Man in Meeker County shootout took his personal life

EDEN VALLEY, Minn. – The Midwest Medical Examiner’s Workplace has recognized the person who died over the weekend after exchanging gunfire with a police officer within the small neighborhood southwest of St. Cloud.

34-year-old Stephen Poissant, of Brainerd, died of a gunshot wound to the pinnacle throughout an encounter in Eden Valley early Saturday.

The officer concerned within the shootout with Poissant has been recognized as Evan Borscheid. The Minnesota Bureau of Felony Apprehension says Borscheid discharged his firearm, leading to a graze damage to Poissant’s knee.

Borscheid was not injured and is on customary administrative go away.
