The Nationwide Drug Regulation Enforcement Company (NDLEA) says a 35-year-old nursing mom has been arrested in Edo for allegedly making an attempt to smuggle hashish to a suspect in police custody.

In a press release on Sunday, Femi Babafemi, NDLEA spokesman, stated the suspect recognized as Mariam Dirisu was arrested on the Edo police command headquarters.

Babafemi stated the hashish was hid inside a container for meals meant for the suspect, who was recognized as a relative of Dirisu.

“In a most audacious transfer, a nursing mom, 35-year-old Mariam Dirisu was arrested on the Edo state command headquarters of the Company on Thursday, twenty first October, whereas attempting to smuggle medication into the cell for a suspect in custody,” the assertion reads.

“Officers on responsibility had, whereas looking out the meals introduced by Mariam for her relative in custody, found two cups of ‘loud’ hashish weighing 13grams buried contained in the meals (‘akpu’) meant for the suspect in custody.”
