NIS donates N4m to family of slain officer in Jigawa

Nigeria Immigration Service has donated N4 million to the family of its officer killed by bandits in Jigawa State.

Controller General, Idris Isa Jere disclosed this while consoling the families of the victims.

PRESSINFORMAT reported that bandits had attacked immigration officers, killing one and injuring two others in the Birniwa Local Government area of Jigawa State.

CIA Abdullahi Mohammed was killed and the two other officers sustained bullet injuries in the attack along Maigatari Gaaladi road less than 3 kilometers to Nigeria and Niger border.

The CG said the NIS is proud of the sacrifice made by the three gallant officers.

He prayed for Allah to grant the deceased al-Jannatul Firdausi and give his family the fortitude to bear the loss.

He said the NIS is committed to ensuring maximum security of the Nigerian border through e-border patrol.

“Federal Government has approved for the redeployment of CCTV camera, drones and other electoral gadgets for the surveillance of the country boarders,” he stated.
