A Nigerian-American man, recognized as Fayemi Ifatonuola, has shared a video of how he obtained initiated into Ifa worship after discovering his ancestral roots.
Fayemi who is predicated in Texas, US, took to video sharing platform TikTok to mark his one 12 months anniversary of travelling to Nigeria to attach along with his roots.
He visited Ile-Ife Ife in Osun state and underwent the initiation rites into Ifa worship. He additionally disclosed that he purchased a chunk of land locally.
He captioned the video, “It’s almost one 12 months since I discovered my roots, travelled to Ile-Ife Nigeria, purchased land and was initiated into Ifa.”

The video has stirred combined reactions on social media.
Whereas some netizens congratulated him for connecting along with his ancestral roots regardless of being an American, others opined that his resolution to return to Nigeria for the initiation rites was influenced by “religious powers”.
