Long Island Resident Eric Gerwatowski Arrested, Charged In Connection To US Capitol Riot

NEW HYDE PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — A person from Lengthy Island has been arrested and charged in reference to the riot on the U.S. Capitol final yr.

Prosecutors say on-line sleuths led them to 31-year-old Eric Gerwatowski, from New Hyde Park.

The FBI says on Jan. 6, 2021, Gerwatowski was seen on digital camera opening a door to the Capitol that police had closed. He’s accused of yelling to the group “let’s go” earlier than coming into the constructing.

Prosecutors say Twitter customers used the hashtag “#LordLongHair” to get recommendations on him.
