In the first revival of Funny Girl, Lea Michele will take Beanie Feldstein’s position as Fanny Brice, the show’s star.

Broadway is currently in the spotlight due to recent news reports of numerous actors quitting their shows. The Golden Globe-nominated actress Beanie Feldstein joined the group of actors who had left Broadway productions.

Lea Michele has been cast as Beanie for the renowned Broadway production just a day after announcing her choice.

According to E!, Lea Michele has been cast in the role of Fanny Brice following Beanie Feldstein’s departure in July.

Beanie announced her exit from the program through an Instagram post, citing direction and production problems. September is when her initial contract was supposed to expire.

Lea confirmed through Instagram that she would join the cast as the new Fanny Brice a few hours after Beanie’s post, together with the Funny Girl production crew.

She will be joined by actress Tovah Feldshuh in the role of Mrs. Brice.

Barbra Streisand originated the role of Fanny Brice in the 1968 film and the original Broadway production, and Beanie was cast for the part for a year.

The actress Beanie was also thoroughly rejoiced to join the cast last year. Michele was one of the first people to congratulate her on her role.

Now the time has turned, Lea’s taking over the Fanny Brice role has met with mixed reviews from the public.

However, the same goes for Beanie’s acting and portrayal of the role. The Guardian had awarded her three out of five stars for her first few plays.
