LASU VC Urges Students to Receive COVID-19 Vaccine

In a statement released on Thursday, the acting VC made this call to students while wishing them a happy Eid-il-Fitri celebration.

Speaking about the COVID-19 pandemic, Oke said, “Let’s be reminded of the clear and present danger posed by Covid-19 pandemic as I encourage everyone to get vaccinated and continue to observe the necessary precautions to keep University safe.”

Oke, in his statement, also congratulated all Muslim faithfuls of the institution on the successful observance of the Ramadan fast, asking Allah to accept the fast and answer their prayers.

“As the Holy month of Ramadan culminates in today’s celebration, we must remain steadfast in displaying the discipline, restraint and piousness that we observed during the fasting period

“I urge us to imbibe these attributes as enduring parts of our lives that the gains of the Holy month might be sustained,” he said.

The acting VC also called for continuous prayers for the university.

He said, “We also must not relent in our prayers for our dear University to continue to experience peace and development while also continuing to commit our State and Nation to the hands of Almighty Allah to enable us overcome the myriads of challenges facing us as a people.”
