Notorious Kidnapper Chukwudimeme Onwuamadike, also known as Evans, and two others, Uchenna Amadi and Okuchuwkwu Nwachukwu, have been sentenced to life in prison by Justice Hakeem Oshodi of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

He handed down his decision today, February 25.

Evans received the punishment after he and his collaborators, Uche Amadi and Okwuchukwu Nwachukwu, were proven guilty of two charges of criminal conspiracy and kidnapping.

The sitting judge found the trio guilty after concluding that the testimony against them was irrefutable.

Evans’ verdict was based on the judge’s observations of the witness’ conduct, claiming that in some of the confessional films produced in court, Evans addressed several of the other defendants and their roles in the case.

“He was seen freely laughing and willingly answered questions. A close look at his body shows no sign of torture. He did not look unkempt. He is seen laughing even when he was told that he must be a rich kidnapper. He showed no remorse in the dock and tried to lie his way out of the crimes despite the video evidence.”Justice Oshodi said

Because there was insufficient evidence connecting Ogechi Uchechukwu and two former Nigerian Army troops, Chilaka Ifeanyi and Victor Aduba, to the murder, the judge dismissed and acquitted them.
