Sabrina Carpenter’s fifth studio album, “Emails I Can’t Send,” came out on Friday, July 15. Soon after, her close friend Julia Michaels took credit for writing the songs on the album, which caused a lot of controversy.

The latter was harshly criticized on Twitter after she told some of her fans, “I wrote f**king all of these,” in response to their praise. Michaels’s Twitter account was shut down over the weekend.

Others called her a “immature” and “weirdo” for talking trash on Twitter and taking credit for Carpenter’s album, but Michael’s fans stood up for her. The singer-songwriter from California didn’t talk to the trolls directly, but she did post several stories on Instagram that showed how much she loves writing songs. Michael also got a lot of flak for praising Sabrina on Instagram on the day her album came out, but now taking credit for it.

Michael wrote to some fans in response to random posts, “But I thought you hated the way I write because FYI…”

After they said nice things about Carpenter’s album, he said, “I wrote F**king all of these.” But after getting a lot of harsh criticism for the same thing, the 28-year-old singer shut down her Twitter account.

Then, Michaels used Instagram to say what she thought by posting several stories on the photo-sharing app. “There have been so many highs and lows in my career. I’ve been through some of the best and worst times of my life, and I still can’t believe I get to do what I love for a living. She added, “It’s beautiful and sad and heartbreaking and painful, and sometimes I want to f**king quit.” She finished by saying, “But nothing feels as good to me as when you’re done writing a song and it feels like you just took a deep breath.”

On the day Carpenter’s album came out, Michaels wrote on Instagram, “Emails I can’t send is out nowwwwwww. So proud of you, @sabrinacarpenter. You put your whole heart and soul into this. So glad that everyone can now experience it. Thank you for giving me so many memories. I love you very much.” Carpenter, on the other hand, hasn’t said anything about the fight. MEAWW will tell you what’s going on.

People on Twitter had a range of reactions to Julia Michaels’s stunt. One person wrote, “Leave Julia Michaels alone. She’s one of Sabrina’s best friends.” People were making fun of her writing for eics long before the album came out, so it’s easy to see why she was upset. We don’t need to make a big deal out of everything, though. While another said, “When it’s a song you don’t like, you say “Julia Michaels’ writing is bad,” but when it’s a hit, you say “Sabrina wrote the song and the emails; Julia just helped her with it.” Please pick a struggle, my sisters in Christ. One person said, “Julia Michaels is a total weirdo. She’s taking credit for Sabrina’s album like she was the one who got hate mail and death threats for the past few months. Girl, you’re just a co-writer!!!!” “Go get your own crap.”

The next tweet said, “You guys can stay mad, but it’s still your favorite that went to Julia Michaels for her writing, and I doubt Sabrina cares what you think! gotten the credit she deserved!” And one person said, “I just realized Julia Michaels isn’t tweeting that to random people tweeting about her songs (like I thought), she’s tweeting that to people tweeting about Sabrina’s songs. Why is she bothering people? “Get out of the way, girl!” One person wrote, “Julia Michaels needs to get serious, like let Sabrina get the credit she deserves. The album came out just one day ago, and she’s already trying to get credit on all the tracks, like are you stupid?” as one person said, “Julia Michaels is immature, talks s**t on Twitter, and isn’t professional.” She’s fine when her work is mixed with that of other writers (she’s fine in small amounts), but she always writes in the same way. I pray that Sabrina and Selena will get over her.”
