Journalists storm police headquarters in Abuja as they protest over lacking colleague, Tordue Salem. Members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) on Monday, October 25, stormed the Nigeria Police Pressure’s headquarters in Abuja over the reporter, disappearance of Vanguard reporter, Tordue Henry Salem.

PRESSINFORMANT reported that the journalist from Benue State, who’s hooked up to the Home of Representatives, had gone to a backyard close to the police headquarters in Garki space of the FCT on October 13 round 8pm and has been lacking since then.

The Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, FCT chapter, Emmanuel Ogbeche, had earlier raised the alarm over Salem’s sudden and mysterious disappearance in entrance of the police headquarters.

“It’s ridiculous that he went lacking in entrance of the drive headquarters and he has not been discovered or whether or not it was a case of abduction or not. We stay persuaded that this isn’t a case of kidnapping. Safety companies have numerous solutions to offer on this regard.” Ogbeche stated.

Twelve days into Salem’s disappearance, NUJ members led by the chairman stormed the Louis Edet Home in protest.

“For all of us journalists in Abuja, we now have been on edge these previous few days over the mysterious disappearance of our colleague and buddy, Mr Tordue Salem,’ an announcement signed by the union’s chairman, Ogbeche, and Secretary Ochiaka Ugwu stated.

“It’s worrying that an grownup will merely vanish into skinny air with no hint. That is unacceptable and we urge the police and DSS to rise as much as the event and supply solutions to this troubling scenario.” he added.

Addresing the protesting journalists, Pressure Public Relations officer, Frank Mba, sympathised with the household of Salem and guaranteed that efforts are ongoing to find Mr Salem, including that the Inspector Common of Police (IGP), Usman Baba Alkali, is within the case.

He counseled the NUJ for his or her efforts at finding their lacking colleagues, saying all arms are on deck to rescue Salem secure and unharmed.
