Jon Bunch, Sense Field Singer Jon Bunch appears in the music video for Sense Field’s 2001 single “Save Yourself.”

Former Sense Field and Further Seems Forever singer Jon Bunch died Tuesday morning, according to Billboard. He was 46.

“It is with a heavy heart and overwhelming sadness that we confirm the passing of our friend and fearless leader, Jon Bunch,” his current band, Lucky Scars, wrote on Facebook. “RIP Johnny Scars. We will see you on the other side.”

Bunch got his start with L.A. hardcore punk band Reason to Believe before co-founding emo rock outfit Sense Field in 1991. The latter group released five albums, including 2001’s “Tonight and Forever,” that featured hit single “Save Yourself” from TV’s “Roswell.”

According to Billboard, Bunch later joined Further Seems Forever in 2004 after Sense Field split up. He was the third lead singer for Further Seems Forever, which originally featured Dashboard Confessional’s Chris Carrabba on vocals, and recorded the album “Hide Nothing” with the band.

Bunch reunited with Sense Field for Revelation Records’ anniversary shows in 2012 and 2013, but had most recently been the frontman for Lucky Scars, performing as “Johnny Scars.” The band released its debut EP last fall.
