She is the eldest daughter of singer R Kelly and his ex-wife dancer Andrea Lee.
Joann’s mother Andrea Lee served as R Kelly’s backup dancer and married the musician in 1997 but divorced him in 2009, following a child pornography trial against him.
Following six weeks of testimony, the sex abuse trial of Joann’s father R. Kelly came to an end with the musician found guilty of racketeering and sex trafficking. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison on June 29, 2022.
In November 2020, Joann shared on Instagram that she had suffered a miscarriage.
