I was a rapper when I started– Davido reveals (See all He Said)

Nigerian artiste, Davido, real name David Adeleke has opened on how he ventured into the Nigerian music scene as a rapper.

In an interview with the Recording Academy, popularly referred to as The Grammy, OBO revealed he began as a rapper as his favourite rap artiste was 50 cent.

Davido who was born within the us , however, disclosed that he found and fell crazy with afrobeats when he visited his hometown in Osun state at 17 years aged .

He said: “I actually began rapping. I actually started rapping first. I wont to sleep in Atlanta and that i wont to just rap, make beats. Then I visited Nigeria for Christmas just one occasion and that i just fell crazy with African music. i used to be like, “Yo, i feel i would like to try to to African music.” And it figured out . If i might have rapped, I’d probably still be reception .”

Davido during the interview also spoke on his forthcoming album “A Better Time” which could feature Nas.

He said:




“The new album we’re performing on now, the third album, is named a far better Time. We’re doing a touch series with albums. First on the scene was an honest Time, now it’s a far better Time. So I came out here to only up|land up|wind up|finally end up”>land up the features and shoot some videos and it’s looking pretty dope.

I think you’ll see tons of growth. a bit like during a blast album. I desire I’ve been during a better space. So you’re getting to see tons of growth on this album, I can tell you that much.”
