Hammer Treated Me Like A Superstar When I Was Still Wearing ‘Chalewote’ – Sarkodie

Sarkodie has never hidden his admiration for Hammer of the Last 2 fame for the unflinching role he played in nurturing his talent and bringing him to the limelight.

Thus when he had an interview with Andy Dosty on The Library on Hitz FM, he seized the moment to praise the renowned sound engineer and talent scout for treating him like a superstar when he was a nobody was realising bathroom sandals to studios sometimes.

‘I remember one time when I was cruising with him, I was seated at the back and, he [Da’ Hammer] looked at me through the rear-view mirror and said: WOW! I have a superstar in my car… And these were the days when I was still wearing chalewote,’ Sarkodie recounted.

Sarkodie also shared fond memories of how Hammer asked people to takae photos with Sarkodie because they wnt have that same opportunity in years to come on his way to the road to superstardom.

“I remember when Hammer used to tell people all the time… He went like: Take pictures with this guy. You might not be able to take it two or three years to come”

Speaking further, Obidi also eulogized Hammer for believing in him and foreseeing his greatness when still not near greatness.

“Hammer of the Last Two is one of those people who like to bring the best out of you. He sees you beyond how you see yourself. He is like a prophet – he says stuff that’s going to happen later on.”
