Alan Thicke, who played Mike Seaver in the 1980s sitcom “Growing Pains,” died Tuesday, according to multiple reports

Alan Thicke, best known for his role as dad and psychiatrist Dr. Jason Seaver in the 1980s sitcom “Growing Pains,” died Tuesday. He was 69.

TMZ first reported his death, saying he had a heart attack while playing hockey with his 19-year-old son, Carter.

Thicke’s publicist later confirmed his death to ABC News.

In addition to Carter, the Canadian-born actor is survived by his wife, Tanya, and two other sons, Robin and Brennan.

Thicke recently had a guest role on NBC’s “This Is Us,” and his last tweet Tuesday afternoon was about being part of the Netflix revival “Fuller House.”
