Governo Bala warns against politicising humanitarian issues as he visits flood-ravaged communities

Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed has visited victims of the Flood disaster in Darazo local government area of the state, calling on the federal government to render assistance to alleviate their plight.

He recalled that the flood wreaked havoc in 13 communities in Darazo Headquarters of Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State, where over 100 houses and farmlands were destroyed.

Speaking on Monday when he visited Darazo, headquarters of Darazo LGA for an assessment of the flood-ravaged communities, he warned against using politics in humanitarian affairs.

Governor Mohammed also said he earlier sent some government officials to visit the affected area, adding that he decided to come by himself so that he will have first-hand information about the extent of the damage.

“Addressing the humanitarian needs of the citizens of the country should be done regardless of their political or regional affiliations. Giving assistance should not be politicised”.
