Flood: Jigawa authorities warns in opposition to unlawful felling of bushes, blocking of drainages

The Jigawa State Authorities has warned residents in opposition to blacking drainages and unlawful chopping of bushes to avert incessant floods claiming lives and properties.

Government Secretary, State Emergency Administration Company SEMA, Yusuf Adamu Babura made the warning whereas chatting with newsmen.

He stated the blocking of drainages and unlawful felling of bushes are the key causes of flooding and windstorm which is now ensuing within the lack of lives and destruction of properties.

PRESSINFORMAT reported that six individuals misplaced their lives whereas scores have been injured following a heavy downpour and windstorm that ravaged Kafin-Hausa Native Authorities Space of Jigawa State.

Babura defined that the warning grew to become mandatory as a result of latest incidents that affected many native governments throughout the state.

“Greater than six individuals have misplaced their lives, 68 injured and over 1000 homes fully destroyed in flood at Kafin-Hausa, Guri, Miga, Guri, and Jahun native governments”

He defined that the state authorities has been working to attenuate the flooding by clearing grass and embarkments, particularly within the land areas.

The Government Secretary additional urged residents to report anybody discovered blocking drainages and chopping bushes illegally
to the nearrest safety company for acceptable motion.
