According to him, the Asakaa Boys have had their songs being promoted and played on so many radio stations who did not even charge them a dime for that, yet they claim they do not need the media to thrive.

DJ Slim explained that he granted the Asakaa Boys’ first interview when they came out with their first hit song, yet the group has demonstrated ungratefulness towards him and the media.

He also lamented that it is very difficult to even get the Asakaa Boys for interviews because no one knows who is in charge of handling their public affairs, hence when one of them is being contacted for an interview, he redirects the caller to another person.

The Radio One show host also revealed that the ungratefulness of the Asakaa Boys got them banned one some radio stations in Ghana. DJ Slim further recalled having been the first radio presenter to interview the boys even when they were nobody.

DJ Slim also schooled the boys, saying there has always been a mechanism that keeps every musician afloat irrespective of the brand and that is the traditional media, hence no Ghanaian artiste can do away without first going through the traditional media.
