DGA Scholar Film Awards 2022 Winners File

The Directors Guild of America on Wednesday launched the winners of the 2021 DGA Scholar Film Awards for African American, Asian American, Latino and Women directors. USC faculty college students took home 4 of the awards in all, adopted by AFI and UCLA faculty college students with two wins each.

The awards highlight quite a few pupil filmmakers from film schools and universities all through the nation, splitting each of the 4 lessons into east and west areas. Winners in each class will acquire a $2,500 prize from the DGA.

The Jury Award is given for a second film that’s deemed distinctive. Throughout the instances when Jury Awards are given, that distinction comes with $1,000 for these Jury Award recipients.

Eligible films have been made throughout the 2020/2021 faculty yr (Sept. 2020 by way of Aug. 2021), and produced as a pupil enterprise beneath the supervision of a college member – with faculty college students holding every foremost crew place. Dramas, comedies and documentaries are all eligible – animated and experimental films are often not eligible. Candidates should be enrolled in, or be a present (one-year) graduate from, an accredited post-secondary institution located within the USA.

A nationwide awards ceremony will occur nearly on Thursday, Feb. seventeenth.
