Press informants reports that Aliko of Dangote Group and Rabi’u of BUA Group had had disagreements in the past around cement production issues; they are both working on oil refineries and are also involved in large-scale philanthropic activities nationwide through their foundations.

The meeting which took place at Kano Governor’s Lodge, with the support of the renowned business mogul, Alhaji Aminu Dantata, Kano Emirate and the Kano State Council of Imams is aimed at putting a stop to rumours making round that the duo were in dispute over sugar control in the country.

The duo of Dangote and Abdussamad, have recently been rumoured to be at loggerhead over control of sugar production in the country. Both parties were said to dismiss allegations that Dangote was planning to see the increase of sugar price, through pressurising BUA to succumb to the increment, describing it as baseless.

The meeting was seen as the zenith of other similar efforts to reconcile the two giants by the governor with Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata who played the role of a father during the meeting.

The meeting had in attendance the Minister for Commerce, Trade and Investment, Mr Niyi Adebayo, representative of the Kano Emirate, Alhaji Aminu Babba Dan Agundi, Chairman of the Council of Kano Imams, Sheikh Muhammad Nasir Adam, the Chief Imam of Sheikh Ahmadu Tijjani Friday Mosque, Kofar Mata, Kano and the Chairman of NEPZA, Hon. Adamu Panda.

The two business moguls have finally agreed to work together as brothers for the growth and development of the country, while promising that henceforth, there would be no differences that could cause any disharmony between them.
