D. R. Roach: Who Is Wynonna Judd’s Ex-Husband?
D.R. Roach was a longtime bodyguard to country singer Wynonna Judd.
The couple got married in 2003 and divorced in December, 2007. They had been married for 4 years.
D.R. Roach was was arrested March 22, 2007, in Texas and charged with three counts of aggravated sexual battery on a child under the age of 13.
He was sentenced to 25 years without parole.
A warrant was issued in Tennessee for Daniel Roach and that he’s being held on $750,000 bond.
The National Enquirer reports that Roach was arrested at the rehab center, the same facility where Judd battled a food addiction.
Wynonna hopes to help others by sharing how she survived an unimaginable betrayal. In 2007, Wynonna’s then-husband, Daniel Roach, was convicted of attempted aggravated sexual battery against a minor.
Wynonna says she was in a public place when she first learned of Roach’s arrest. “I’m literally in an airport on a golf cart, and people are pointing at me, ‘Oh, she’s the girl on the 5 o’ clock news.’”
Once home, Wynonna says she went into “mama bear mode” with her own children, Elijah and Grace. “He was out of the house within the hour,” she says. “I called him everything I could think of. I had a moment where I let it all fly, and then it was done.”
Five days after Roach’s arrest, Wynonna filed for divorce from the man who had once been her bodyguard. The ordeal, Wynonna says, broke her wide open.
