Court remands three suspects over alleged attempt to kidnap family

An Edo State Excessive Court docket, presided over by Justice Ohimai Oviageli, has remanded three suspected kidnappers for allegedly conspiring to kidnap a household.

Justice Oviageli ordered the remand of the suspects: Shiny Emumwen, Evans Osariemen and Chukwudi Anyanwu, in Sapele Highway Correctional Centre pending when authorized recommendation from the Director of Public Prosecution, Edo State can be acquired.

In an exparte order marked cost No: B/CD/1495M/2021, it was alleged that the suspects, amongst different prices, conspired amongst themselves, to kidnap one Sunday Onofua, his wife, endurance Onofua and their son, Samuel Onufua, all of Okpagha Neighborhood, off Benin-Auchi Highway Benin Metropolis, Edo State.

The presiding Decide, after listening to the prosecution, I.E. Ekibade, ordered that the case file be duplicated and despatched to the Director of Public Prosecution of Edo State for Authorized Recommendation.

The Decide thereafter adjourned the case to the thirteenth of September, 2021.
