Chyna Thomson, the daughter of cinematographer, Alex Thomson, was born on October 5, 1967.

Chyna is a director of cinematography and has directed several films including The Calcium Kid (2004), Cliffhanger, Alien, Raw Deal, Hideous Kinky, The saints, and many more.

Chyna is married to Stephen Woolfenden, a co-director of the Harry Potter series.

Chyna and Stephen got married in 1999 and they have two children together.

Stephen is also a director of the TV show ‘Doctor Who’ as well as The Legend of Tarzan film.

Alex Thomson was a British Cinematographer known for several blockbuster movies including Year of the Dragon (1985), Legend (1985),[1] Labyrinth (1986), The Krays (1990), Alien 3 (1992), Cliffhanger (1993), Demolition Man (1993), Executive Decision (1996) and two of Kenneth Branagh’s Shakespeare adaptations, Hamlet (1996) and Love’s Labour’s Lost (2000).

He headed the camera department at Denham and Pinewood Studios and had been a nominee for Best Cinematography at the 1981 Academy Award.

Alex passed on in 2007 at the age of 78.
