Bukayo Saka Reveals

Arsenal of England youngster, Bukayo Saka has revealed that his immediate family played a key role in helping him join The Gunners as a kid, since they always loved the Emirates Stadium club above any other, megasportsarena.com reports.

Despite similar interest expressed in his signature by other London-based clubs like Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur, the Nigerian-born England international recalls how his family’s love for Arsenal swayed his decision.

After two successful years in The Gunners’ senior team and becoming an integral part of The Three Lions of England as well, Bukayo is now reminiscing over how it all began and gives lots of plaudits for his family members for making it happen.

The 20-year-old dark-skinned left-footed defender-cum-winger, who has been with Arsenal since he was eight, added that he never thought of any option of playing for either Tottenham or Chelsea.

His sojourn at Emirates Stadium began after he was spotted by The Gunners’ scouts while he was playing for his local team, Greenford Celtic, thereby making it easier for him to follow his family’s affection, despite equally tempting offers from The Blues and Spurs.

Saka, who was also on the radar of Watford back then, told Sky Sports: “I think Arsenal was always the one I wanted to go to. Arsenal was the club in the hearts of my family, so we chose them.

“It seemed like they had a lot of faith in their youth and there was a clear pathway when you could see the players coming up from Hale End to London Colney and my dad also really believed in the project, and he loved Arsene Wenger.”
