President Muhammadu Buhari has sacked Kemebradikumo Pondei as the MD of the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC.

This was disclosed in a statement issued by presidential spokesman, Femi Adesina and seen on Saturday, December 12.

The action of the president signals the end of Kemebradikumo Pondei’s era as the boss of the interventionist agency.

According to the statement by Adesina, the new NDDC boss is Mr. Effiong Okon Akwa, who is currently the acting executive director, finance and administration of the commission.

The statement further noted that Akwa is to assume headship of the commission till completion of the forensic audit currently ongoing.

“President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of an interim administrator to oversee the affairs of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC),”

“He is Mr. Effiong Okon Akwa, the Ag. Executive Director, Finance and Administration of the Commission, who is to assume headship till completion of the forensic audit.

“Mr. Akwa is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
