Blame starvation and poverty for ritual killings not Nollywood – Yul Edochie replies Home of Reps as he proffers resolution

Actor Yul Edochie has faulted the narrative that blames the spate of ritual-related killings on Nollywood as he advises the Nigerian authorities to repair the nation for the menace to go away.

Yul Edochie’s recommendation follows the Home of representatives claims on Wednesday that Nollywood is partly to be blamed for the rise within the charge of formality killings throughout the nation.

Reacting to the Home of Reps’ indictment, the thespian on his Instagram web page wrote: “From once I was a child within the eighties, I began listening to about ritual killing in Nigeria. Then, there was no Nollywood. Starvation and poverty make folks to do crime. No, be Nollywood trigger am. 

Nollywood is simply displaying what occurs in society. Nigerians are wallowing in excessive poverty. A hungry man is an indignant man.

“Repair the nation and crime will go away. Don’t blame Nollywood.”
