Albert Arnold Gore Jr. (born March 31, 1948) is an American politician, businessman, and environmentalist who served as the 45th vice president of the United States from 1993 to 2001 under President Bill Clinton. He was also the Democratic nominee for president of the United States in the 2000 presidential election.

Gore attended St. Albans School, an independent college preparatory day and boarding school for boys in Washington, D.C. from 1956 to 1965. He was the captain of the football team, threw discus for the track and field team and participated in basketball, art, and government. He then went on to attend Harvard University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in government in 1969.
Gore was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 2007 for his efforts to raise awareness about global warming.
