FG will appeal N20bn damages against DSS – Malami

Lawyer-Common of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami has mentioned that the federal authorities might be interesting the judgment of an Oyo State Excessive Court docket which awarded N20 billion in damages to Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo also referred to as Sunday Igboho following the invasion of his residence by the DSS at about 1:30am on July 1, 2021.

Igboho was awarded the cash after his lawyer, Mr Yomi Alliyu (SAN)  had filed a N500 billion elementary human rights enforcement swimsuit in opposition to the AGF, DSS and Director of the DSS in Oyo State over the incident.

Ruling on the case, Justice Ladiran Akintola mentioned the DSS exhibited an unprofessional conduct throughout the invasion and likewise violated Igboho’s human rights.

Reacting to the ruling, Malami mentioned efforts are already being made to commence the method of interesting the judgment.
