Veteran musician, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley is baffled as to why his ‘junior’ colleague Okyeame Kwame dragged him to court for allegedly misappropriating monies from the Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA).

In an interview with JoyNews, Ambolley stated firmly that he has evidence to support his claim and that he did not transgress by making such remarks.

You could recall that after multiple attempts to serve Ambolley in person ultimately failed, a writ of summons from Okyeame Kwame’s lawyers was served online in August 2020.

Ambolley claimed: “All these are on paper. They are all there. When the time comes, let them come and challenge me and everything will come out,”

In February 2020, Ambolley gained attention when he said clearly on 3FM that he has evidence that former MUSIGA president Bice Osei Kuffuor (Obour) handed Okyeame Kwame and other pals GH50,000 apiece from the GH2 million annual budget money provided to the union by the erstwhile NDC government in 2012.

Ambolley said: “Okyeame Kwame is a junior rapper. You want to take a senior musician to court because I said some of you guys took loans and everything from MUSIGA office?… I haven’t insulted you that you’ve gone to steal or you’ve gone to bear false witness…. Taking a loan and, you, a junior rapper, want to take a senior rapper, senior singer, senior composer, and everything to court? I’ll prove him wrong,”
