2 Illegal Bunkerers Arrested In Edo Over Oil Theft

Two suspected Unlawful Bunkerers have been arrested by officers of the Public Works Volunteers (PUWOV) in Edo State.

It was gathered that the suspects have been arrested at Unique Junction, by Airport Highway, whereas transporting stolen petrol of their automotive.

Talking with journalists, PUWOV state coordinator, Mukhtar Yusuf-Osagie, mentioned the suspects have been nabbed in two Audi automobiles with plate numbers BEN 206 PK and GRA 91 CH, alongside Airport Highway, Benin Metropolis.

He mentioned the officers arrested the 2 Audi automobiles for contravening the regulation and that within the technique of the arrest, it was found that the automobiles have been absolutely loaded with gallons of oil and different devices utilized in oil bunkering.

“The arrested culprits tried to induce our officers with the sum of N50, 000 in an try to purchase their freedom and escape justice however the officers rejected their provide,” he mentioned.

He mentioned they’ve been handed over to the Edo State Command of the Nigeria Safety and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).

The state NSCDC Public relations officer, Efosa Ogbebor, confirmed the incident.
