16-yr-old lady arrested for stealing three-day-old baby from hospital

Police in Masindi, Uganda, has arrested a 16-year-old lady for allegedly stealing a three-day-old baby lady from the district hospital.

 

The suspect, a resident of Nyabyeya village in Budongo sub-county in Masindi district, posed as an attendant on the maternal ward in Masindi Primary Hospital.

 

She then approached a model new mum named Sarah Nanjinga, 25, and glad her helpful over her baby so she’s going to be capable of relieve her of the child whereas she rests.

 

Nanjinga, who had merely delivered her baby by C-section on the hospital on April 28, 2022, handed over the toddler to the stranger.

 

The suspect later disappeared with the new child, prompting Nanjinga to report the case to Masindi Central Police station.

 

Dr. Felix Twinomugisha, the Medical Superintendent at Masindi Primary hospital acknowledged the supervisors on the ward weren’t aware that the suspect, who had reportedly spent 4 days throughout the ward, was posing as an attendant.
