The Caretaker Chairman of Takum Local Government Council of Taraba State, Boyi Manja, has frowned at those linking the arrest of Samaila Yakubu, to politics.

Yakubu, who is the Director-General of the member representing Wukari/Ibi federal constituency campaign council, Danjuma Usman Shiddi, was alleged to have been arrested by the state police command following a directive from the state governor.

The arrest, which our correspondent noticed to have taken place in Takum, the country home of the state governor, has been igniting dust in the state, especially among members of the major opposition party (All Progressives Congress).

Exonerating the governor, the council boss in a statement on Wednesday described those linking the arrest to politics as “enemies of Takum and its good people”.

The proactive measures taken by the security authority, as made known by him, is geared at nipping “the usual uncivil act of terror, thuggery and brigandage often exhibited by one Samaila Yakubu and gangs on bud”.

As the Chief Security officer of Takum, the caretaker chairman claimed to have on records of how Samaila once supervised the beating and vandalization of vehicles belonging to the late Joe Fete and Baba Sampati by his thugs.
