American race car driver Joey Logano, also known as “Sliced Bread,” is a regular competitor in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. He is a full-time NASCAR Cup Series racer, driving a Ford Mustang GT for Team Penske in the number 22 position.
Joseph Thomas Logano was born on May 24, 1990, in Middletown, Connecticut. When Thomas J. Logano and Deborah Bidduk were married, they had a son named Thomas Logano. After raising the river in Portland, he relocated to Georgia to be closer to his father. His father was instrumental in helping him develop as a race car driver. He also played ice hockey as a kid and teenager, in addition to racing.
A young Logano gained the moniker “sliced bread” after winning multiple championships in the early years of his racing career. When he was six years old and still living in Connecticut, he started racing. In 1997, he became the first person to win the Eastern Grand National Championship when he triumphed.

Even at a young age, Logano’s racing career began when he competed in quarter midgets. In 1997, he won his first major championship, the Easter Grand National. Logano competed in the NASCAR Pro Truck Series, where he started and finished second. The USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series saw him compete seven times, and he took home five championship series victories, including one at Mansfield and two during the Southern Division events.
For his NASCAR Nationwide Series debut, he drove in the Heluva Good! 200 at Dover International Speedway in 2008. As a rookie, he became the youngest NASCAR series race winner in history, winning the title in his third race.
As a National wide Series champion, Joey had an outstanding year in 2012, winning nine times. He then went on to win both NNS races in 2013, becoming the only driver to win four races at Dover in any series, including the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
The first race of his Xfinity Series career was at Atlanta in 2015, where he won the pole and came in second place overall. He won the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series championship after winning in Homestead in 2018. The Bluegreen Vacation Duels 2020 were his launching pad for the 2020 campaign, and he won Duel 1 to get things going.
Logano’s career as a racecar driver has been interspersed with other appearances, such as anchoring WWE Raw in 2009.
