Ex-Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Azubuike Ihejirika joins APC in Abia [PHOTOS]

Former Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Azubuike Ihejirika, has joined the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Abia State.

Lt. Gen Azubuike served as Chief of Army Staff for four years under ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and handed over to the immediate past Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Ibrahim Buratai, following his retirement from the military service.

He hailed from Ovim Ward in Isuikwuato Local Government Area of Abia North Senatorial District of the state.

PRESS INFORMANT reports that the Abia APC National Membership Registration and Revalidation Committee-led by Ambassador Bala Mohammed Maigairi and members, the leader of the State Party caucus and Senate Majority Chief Whip, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, Party State Chairman, Hon Donald Nwankpa, members of State Working Committee, SWC, Ward/LGA party executive members, House of Representatives, Chief Whip, Hon Nkeriuka Onyejiocha, Rep Ben Kalu, State APC lawmakers, associates of the ex-Army Chief of Staff and other notable dignitaries are on ground for the latter’s formal declaration for the All Progressives Congress, APC.

Before now, there have been wide speculations in many quarters of the state that the former army chief had concluded plans to vie for the governorship seat of Abia State in 2023 general elections.
