He was a controversial musician and very unapologetic about his lifestyle! Xxxtentacion was a weird character whose type of music has no comparison, but in the middle of the confusion, he was able to stand out and made a name for himself in the music world. Unfortunately, his precious life was cut short albeit in the middle of controversies and larger than life living. While alive, there was hardly a day without an incident about him, if not a case of another pregnancy, it was a face-off with authority, or girlfriend battering and cruelty against women. Even his album was once banned on Shopify in one of many instances of his hyperactive lifestyle. However questionable his lifestyle was, XXXtentacion was famous for his kind of music that took the world by surprise as he stood apart from other musicians. The question many would like to know is what is his music style and how he built this style of singing, who influenced him. How was he killed? Who was his killer and what happened to him? We will tell you about his religious beliefs, his family, and let you know how rich he was?

Who is XXXtentacion

He was an American a rapper, songwriter and a singer who came into the limelight in 2014 with the sharing of his music snippet on SoundCloud, the audio distribution platform. His real name is Jahseh Dwayne Ricardo Onfroy, born on 23 January 1998 to parents of multi-ethnic background cutting across Egyptian, Indian, Jamaican, German and Italian descent, but who never had time for his proper upbringing, and so he was raised by his grandmother.

Early life

He was born in Plantation, bred in Pompano Beach and Lauderhill communities in Florida. XXXtentacion had three siblings; he shared an only father with one of them. Due to financial problems with his mother, he had to live with his grandma, and it was during his early childhood that he developed an interest in music.

Education

He had his early education at Margaret Middle School, then attended Piper High School, from which he was expelled when he was in the tenth grade due to a fighting offense. Because of lack of a proper upbringing, he was said to go from home to home during his childhood, and that is probably where he picked-up his rough character, that eventually cut him short in his prime. At the age of six, he was reported to have stabbed a man in defense of his mother, which led him to be put in for a youth program briefly, before he was allowed to live with his grandma.

When XXXtentacion was young, he joined the school choir on the advice of his aunt, but no sooner had he started to attend the choir, then he attacked a student and was sent out. His early development was mired by a series of confrontations with constituted authority, or lack of peace among fellow kids who belonged to the same program in school. After he was expelled from, his mother sent him to Sheridan House Family Ministries, and it was at this time that he started to listen to nu-metal, rap, and hard rock music, and took an interest in learning piano and guitar.

Career

His return from juvenile detention, incarcerated on gun possession charges, saw him pursuing his music life with more energy and passion. He made underground mixtapes blended with slight modern appeal, and began getting some attention with his song online entitled ‘Look At Me!’ which was anything but peaceful, and that was the beginning of his violent songs which underscored his music career.

2013: News/Flock

What could be referred to his major stepping out of the closet musical work was the release of the song “News/Flock”, however, without reason for his action, he pulled it off his SoundCloud and discography accounts.

He formed a music band with his jail mate rapper Ski Mask called ‘Members Only,’ and from 2014 promoted his music on SoundCloud, and he used the song entitled ‘Vice City,’ the beginning of the complete song released later.

2015 release of 2 Albums

He did a joint album with Ski Mask the rapper, releasing “Members Only Vol.1 and 2”, followed in 2016 with the release of another song entitled ‘Willy Wonka Was a Child Murderer.’

After his success with “Members Only”, he released a hit entitled “Look at Me,” the success of which spurred him to re-release it in 2017 and this time it made the US Billboard chart. He turned to SoundCloud in April 2017 to release his debut album called “Revenge” which features his previous eight mixtape tracks. Other works released in 2016 include ‘It Wasn’t Enough’, and he also produced a studio album called “Bad Vibes” and “17” with the “I Need Jesus” mixtape and worked on a combo album with his Members Only group entitled “Members Vol. 3.”

His music style

Onfroy’s music style is heavily influenced by the work of the rapper Tupac Shakur. He mixes rap, hip hop, R&B and heavy metal to deliver a superfast beat, and he found artists of his kind to work with, such as Ski Mask the Slump God, Craig Xen, and Wifisfuneral.

Successful music career

The brief sojourn of XXXtentacion in the entertainment world was mostly successful. After his death, there are some unreleased albums and many excellent works that he did – one of his posthumous releases was “Ghost Busters” featuring Quavo and his all-time friend Ski Mask the Slump God. Many artists released songs in his tribute as well as his work in progress entitled “Falling Down.”

Personal life

His life is marked by stories of violence right from his childhood to the time of his death. While remembering the events during his detention, he recalled being respectful to prison officers and used to look out for weak inmates to protect them from the predator inmates. He talked about shielding the vulnerable from the homosexual, and how he beat up a particular guy he suspected of eyeing him for his inordinate homosexual desires. His history is influenced by his upbringing not necessarily that he was violent by nature.

2018: Turning a New Leaf

In retrospection of his violent life and how he had built enmity for himself over the years, XXXtentacion decided to donate to charity to redeem his battered image. This act of public relations developed into what he called #TheHelpingHandChallenge, which he uploaded on his vlog account. He made known his intention to donate clothes, shoes and PS4s to children in need, and urged his fans to invest in the project which would earn them a day outing with him. While this is a gesture well applauded, we do not have follow-up information about the implementation.

He dated Geneva Ayala for a while, but the relationship hit the rock after he was accused of battery, although his time with her marked relative peace in his life, and XXXtentacion admitted how influential she was and that he was able to focus on his music career. He had other relationships, but all ended on the same sad story of assaults.
