The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested one Rita Umoh and her husband, Akan Umoh, for allegedly poisoning his 10-year-old son to dying over witchcraft allegation.

Spokesperson of the command, SP Odiko Macdon, in a press release on Tuesday, September 14, stated the duo was arrested by the detectives from Abak division after tip-off.

“On twenty ninth August, 2021, at about 4:30pm, counting on data obtained from one Mfon Francis, of Ekpat Iduot village that one Akan Jimmy Umoh and his wife Rita Jimmy Umoh of similar handle, conspired and poisoned to dying her stepson, one Grasp Savior Jimmy Umoh, a ten 12 months previous boy on the allegation of witchcraft,” the assertion learn.
