When will Ketanji Brown Jackson be on the Supreme Court?
On February 25, 2022, President Joe Biden announced that Ketanji Jackson was his nominee for associate justice of the Supreme Court.

Ketanji Jackson’s nomination was sent to the Senate on February 28 and her confirmation hearings before the Senate Judiciary Committee opened on March 21.

After the Judiciary Committee deadlocked in an 11–11 vote, Ketanji Jackson’s nomination was advanced on April 4 by a 53–47 procedural vote in the Senate.

Ketanji Jackson was subsequently confirmed by the same margin on April 7, 2022 and will be sworn in and become an associate justice in late June or early July, when Breyer’s retirement goes into effect.

The court’s next term will start with an opening conference on September 28, and the court still hasn’t announced a schedule yet for when it will hear the cases it’s already agreed to take up.
