What is Brad Pitt’s illness?

Brad Pitt is regarded as one of the most powerful and influential people in the American entertainment industry.

Brad Pitt has revealed that he believes he has a condition known as face blindness. Prosopagnosia is the clinical word for the inability to recognize faces.

“So many people despise me because they believe I disrespect them,” he told Esquire. “I swear to God, I chose one year and just said, ‘This year, I’m just going to admit it and say to people, Okay, where did we meet?’” But things just got worse.

Pitt recalls people thinking he’s egotistical or pretentious since he can’t remember them because of this problem. But he says that he is not doing it on purpose and that he is powerless to stop it. Pitt had gotten to the point where he didn’t want to leave the house.

Face blindness, despite its seeming rarity, may be more frequent than one might believe. According to Time, “as many as one in every 50 people suffer some degree of prosopagnosia, yet many lead regular lives without realising it.”
