The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) authorities have prevented unvaccinated corps members from attending orientation camps.

In a nationwide virtual speech to the 2021 Batch “C” Stream Two corps members and camp authorities on Monday, December 13, NYSC Director-General Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim revealed this.

Ibragim, who observed that the scheme was contributing to the fight against Coronavirus after the Omicron COVID variant was discovered in the country, also cautioned that there is nothing like a two-week respite after leaving the Orientation Camp.

He said;  “We want to ensure that we adhere strictly to the non-pharmaceutical protocols of COVID-19.”

Instead of pursuing the hardly accessible salaried positions, Ibrahim advised corps members to create value to themselves by learning skills that would enable them to become business owners.

Corps members were also warned not to embark on night or unapproved travels, but rather to break any journey that lasted longer than 6:00 p.m. and spend the night in a safe location.

He said; “We have NYSC Corps Lodges, Secretariats and Army barracks, find out where they are and make sure you pass the night there for journeys that will take you beyond six to get to your destination.”
