The Zamfara House of Assembly has suspended two lawmakers, Yusuf Muhammed and Ibrahim T. Tukur Bakura for having hyperlinks to varied bandit teams within the state.

 

Yusuf Alhassan Kanoma, representing Maru North, had raised a movement on the allegation.

 

Mr Kanoma stated the 2 lawmakers had rejoiced over the kidnapping of the speaker’s late father, including that they have been additionally concerned within the kidnapping of Muhammad Ahmad, a member of the meeting representing Shinkafi constituency.

 

The speaker authorized the outright suspension of the 2 lawmakers in his ruling on the topic, and requested the chairman of the Home Committee on Ethics and Privileges, Kabiru Hashimu Dansadau, to research the allegations and report again to plenary.

 

The meeting introduced on Tuesday that the 2 lawmakers would stay suspended pending the result of investigations into the allegations which have been levelled in opposition to them.

In a press release by the meeting’s spokesperson, Mustapha Jafaru Kaura, the 2 lawmakers have been requested to “seem earlier than the Home Committee on ethics and privileges along with safety businesses which are assigned by legislation to research them.”

 

The Home spokesperson stated “these are a part of the resolutions reached simply now on the Home plenary presided over by the speaker of the Home Rt Hon Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya below issues of pressing public significance.”
