Tick, Tick…Boom!, Pose and Hacks Among GLAAD Nominees

GLAAD launched its checklist of nominees for the thirty third annual GLAAD Media Awards Wednesday with the group championing all kinds of tasks and folks, together with Lil Nas X, Demi Lovato, “Pose,” and “Tick, Tick…Increase!”

“RuPaul’s Drag Race” Season 13 finalist Gottmik made the announcement by way of TikTok.

For the second 12 months in a row, streaming providers dominated general with 63 nominations that included such movies as Netflix’s “The Mitchells vs. the Machines” and TV sequence like HBO Max’s “The Different Two” and “Hacks.” Cable adopted with 39 nods, the printed networks adopted with 17. GLAAD, which is the world’s greatest lesbian, homosexual, bisexual, transgender and queer media advocacy group, acknowledged 246 nominees in 30 classes. Two of those classes are new: Excellent New TV Collection and Excellent Authentic Graphic Novel/Anthology.

“After many years of LGBTQ characters being excluded, sidelined, or misrepresented on tv, it’s extremely highly effective to see what number of sequence launched contemporary, impactful, and totally developed LGBTQ characters and storylines of their first season, a lot of which have been a number of the most beloved exhibits of the 12 months,” mentioned GLAAD president and CEO Sarah Kate Ellis in an announcement. “The introduction of the Excellent New TV Collection class acknowledges the exhibits and creators getting LGBTQ inclusion proper from the start, and encourages different showrunners to incorporate LGBTQ characters and tales that enlighten and entertain in new tasks.” 

Winners can be unveiled at ceremonies to be held in Los Angeles on the Beverly Hilton April 2, and in New York on the Hilton Midtown Could 6. For the previous two years, the awards gatherings have been digital.
