Three Women Reportedly Kidnapped By Unknown Gunmen On Ibadan/Ijebu Ode Road

Some unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped three women at Onipe community, Idi Ayunre along the Ibadan/Ijebu Ode Road.

Per what we gathered, these gunmen appeared from a nearby bush around the Onipe community at about 8:20 am on April 12.

They then started shooting indiscriminately to scare travellers before they took away the women to an unknown destination.

The identities of the women who were kidnapped were given as Mrs. Temitope Okeowo, Mrs. Abosede Adebayo, and Mrs. Bola Ogunrinde.

Mrs. Ogunrinde is said to be a military officer and before she was kidnapped, she was driving a Toyota RAV-4, with number plate AGL 66 FY. For Mrs. Okeowo, she is a teacher at the Itamarun Comprehensive High School, Oru-Ijebu, Ogun state while Mrs. Adebayo is a dental therapist who works at the General Hospital, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun State.

Days ago, it was reported that an Imo State monarch has been abducted.

He is the traditional ruler of Umueze Nguru autonomous community in the Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, Eze Charles Iroegbu and he was kidnapped together with his cabinet chiefs and palace guards.

They were kidnapped while returning from a traditional wedding and per what we gathering, they have been freed.

He is also the Chief Executive Officer of All States Mass Transit, and while on their way to his kingdom in three vehicles, the gunmen ambushed them and diverted their movement.

After spending three days in captivity, they were freed on Saturday, and a source in the palace who spoke to The PUNCH indicated that the entire community was jubilating over their safe return.

He said;

“Go and tell it to the whole world, my king, our king, the symbol of authority in our kingdom has been released. His cabinet chiefs and two palace guards who were kidnapped with him on Wednesday were also freed by the kidnappers. They returned to the kingdom this morning.”
