Suspect Arrested After Remains Of High School Student Was Recovered From A Stream A Day To Her Final Exams

A man linked to the death of a High School Student, Brenda Ankunda has been arrested by the men of the Rukungiri Police, Ug anda.

Reports suggests that the high school student was killed just a day to her Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) examination. It was gathered that the suspect who is in his 20s was having an affair with the victim.

On Monday, April 12, the men of the Rukungiri Police zoomed in on the suspect after print-outs of telephone call logs showed the he was the last person to speak with Ankunda before she died. The police whisked him away at an electronics shop near Rwenshama State in Rukunguri Municipality.

The residence of the suspect in Farmer’s Village, Rukungiri Municipality was also searched by the police team led by the Deputy Criminal Investigations Department officer, Mr Victor Arimpa. Details from the search still remains sketchy if there were any items recovered.

Meanwhile, Brenda Ankuda happens to be a high school student and a resident of Bugangari Sub-County in Rukungiri. She never came home after she left saying she was going to make preparations for her final paper. She was reportedly murdered a day to the completion of her UCE Examinations.

Her remains was identified by the relatives and was laid to rest after it was recovered from Kahengye stream on March 31.
