Edo State Authorities has condemned the deliberate coronation of Idriss Addano because the ‘Sultan of Shuwa Arab of Edo State’.

It described the alleged transfer as sacrilegious and a risk to peace and safety.

Secretary to Edo State Authorities (SSG) Osarodion Ogie on Thursday in an internet assertion, assured residents {that a} agency and a decisive motion could be taken to forestall the actualisation of the unlawful act.

Ogie stated: “Edo State Authorities has been inundated with complaints from indigenes and residents over the alleged transfer to embark on the coronation of Idriss Addano because the ‘Sultan of Shuwa Arab of Edo State.’

“The federal government needs to state as follows: That whether or not or not this occasion is held on the stated, or every other location inside the state, it is going to represent a direct assault on the custom, customized and tradition of the folks of Edo State, by people who clearly have sinister motives and are attempting to abuse the well-known Edo hospitality by their act of sacrilege.

“That it’s a potential threat to the peace and security of Edo State, with the capability to trigger a breakdown of regulation and order, as residents of the state are more likely to be provoked by the obnoxious ceremony.

“Below the Edo State Conventional Rulers and Chiefs Regulation, it’s an offence for anybody to proclaim himself, or enable himself to be proclaimed because the holder of any conventional title not recognised beneath the stated regulation and/or with out the approval of the suitable authorities.”

The SSG stated anyone discovered to have been concerned within the conception and/or execution of the illegality would face the complete wrath of the regulation.

He stated residents must be calm and law-abiding, because the Governor Godwin Obaseki administration was on high of the state of affairs.
