Stakt Mat Shark Tank Update: Where Are They Now?

In “Shark Tank” season 14 episode 3, businesswomen Millie Blumka and Taylor Borenstein showcased their Stakt Mat product in the hopes of receiving a game-changing investment from the Sharks. The Stakt Mat takes pride in being the all-purpose yoga mat that enables you to practice any style of yoga that interests you. We therefore made the decision to dive in and learn more about the company after realizing that the solution solved the issue of having to carry many mats.

Stakt Mat: Who Are They and What Do They Do?

Millie Blumka participated in a number of social organizations while she was a student and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Tulane University in 2016. Additionally, Millie worked as a fashion marketing intern at Runway2Street when she was a student, giving her the experience she sorely needed. Millie joined SinglePlatform as an inside sales representative after graduating, but by October 2017 she had been promoted to Senior Partnerships Account Executive.

Before being promoted to Sales Manager, Millie joined Simplifeye as a Senior Channel & Partner Sales Executive after leaving SinglePlatform in October 2018. But in May 2021, Millie decided to change employers after being given the position of Partnerships Manager at Showfields since she didn’t want to stay in one location for too long. She currently holds the position of Director of Partnerships in the same organization after earning a second promotion.

The A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University, on the other hand, awarded Taylor Borenstein a Bachelor of Science in Marketing in 2016. While she was an undergraduate, she interned for organizations like Tour Director, Course Hero, Inc., ConvergeDirect, and Bloomberg. However, after graduating in 2016, she joined Bloomberg as a product specialist. Taylor hasn’t changed jobs too often in her professional career, but she is very ambitious and has always let her talent and diligence speak for itself.

After only a few months at Bloomberg, Taylor received a promotion to Senior Product Specialist, and two more promotions later, she is currently employed by Bloomberg LP as a Product Implementation Team Leader. When Taylor and Millie made the decision to start doing more challenging workouts, the Stakt Mat was created. Most yoga mats are often quite thin for comfort, making it difficult for users to engage in more demanding exercises like sculpting, Pilates, or high-intensity training. Moreover, it gets tiresome to carry two mats, one for yoga and the other for other disciplines.

As a result, after realizing there was no way to solve their issue, Taylor and Millie pooled their ideas to create Stakt Mat. A thicker yoga mat that may be used for both yoga and other more demanding workouts is called the Stakt Mat. Additionally, consumers may use it for triceps dips and incline/decline exercises because it can be folded. Additionally, the mat can be folded up and stored in a small space. It is very simple to clean with water and soap that doesn’t include any oil.

Where Is Stakt Mat Now?
Even while Millie and Taylor were aware of the brilliance of the Stakt Mat concept, they also understood that they needed to effectively promote it to their intended market. In order to sponsor the mats and broaden their reach, the businesses teamed up with fitness instructors in SoHo, Manhattan, as they were well-versed in yoga and other forms of exercise. Additionally, they used social media, and to to their surprise, their Stakt Mat video went viral on TikTok. As a result, as soon as the mat was released, customers flocked to purchase one, and the supply quickly ran out.

Even though Stakt Mat was initially well-liked, problems was on the horizon due to the COVID-19 epidemic, which forced businesses to close their doors and disrupted their supply networks. Additionally, Millie and Taylor had to go over budget to solve these logistical issues, but they were adamant about winning. The pandemic eventually subsided, and as soon as regular company operations began, sales once more took off.

In addition to operating a prosperous business, the pair also supports charitable organizations and runs the Upcycle Program, in which they accept used Stakt Mats from its clients in exchange for a discount on a brand-new one. Customers who are interested in purchasing a Stakt Mat can do so only through their official website, and although the mats are available in a variety of colors, a single piece costs $86.50. The emergence of Millie and Taylor has been pretty inspiring, and we are sure that the business is headed for further success soon.
