Simon’s mom didn’t recognize him when he came back to Britain with 46% burns. He’d lost an ear and his eyelids, and the remainder of his head, both arms, and much of his body had been devastated.
His bodyweight would ultimately reduce from 16 stone to barely eight stone as a result of the trauma. Over the next four years, he endured over 90 procedures, the majority of which were skin transplants.
