Former Super Eagles forward, Julius Aghahowa has advised Morocco to be calm in their approach when they take on Spain in the Round of 16 contest at the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The Atlas Lions and La Furia Roja will battle for a place in the quarter-finals next Tuesday at the Education City Stadium, Al Rayyan.

Morocco finished top of Group F with seven points following two wins and a draw from their opening three games.

Spain on the other hand managed to scale through in Group F finishing in second position behind Japan.

The North Africans will look to become the fourth African country to make it to the last eight at the World Cup after Cameroon, Senegal and Ghana.

Aghahowa, who was part of Super Eagles’ squad to the 2022 World Cup co-hosted by South Korea and Japan, insisted that the Atlas Lions must not panic against the former world champions.

“The performances of the African teams at the World Cup has shown that our game on the continent has improved,” Aghahowa told Brila FM.

“As for Morocco, I feel that they should take each game one step at a time. It will be a very difficult game for them in the round of 16. They need to be calm, don’t panic,” he added.
