Protect Nigeria’s democracy – Labour Party charges journalists

The National Vice-Chairman of Labour Party, North Central zone, Shirsha Adi, has charged Nigerian journalists to protect the country’s democracy through accurate reportage.

In a chat with journalists on the sidelines of the party’s Town Hall meeting in Ilorin, Kwara State, Adi, cautioned against sensational reporting and fake news.

He advised journalists to ensure adequate protection of the nation’s democratic institutions.

Adi, said the era of sensational reporting and fake news are over.

He asserted that all hands must be on deck to project the country positively.

The Labour party chieftain appealed to the leadership of the NUJ to do all that is humanly possible to send away quacks and fake journalists.

He also called on the youths to redouble their efforts to ensure the growth and development of the country.

Chairman Kwara State Chapter of the Labour Party, Mr Kunle Rotimi, urged the youths to shun thuggery and channel their energy to productive ventures.
