Paul Pogba reveals who should be blamed for Manchester United’s defeat to Arsenal. Paul Pogba has taken responsibility for Manchester United’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Old Trafford this weekend. Pierre-Emerich Aubameyang scored the only goal of the game from the spot after the Frenchman conceded a penalty by fouling Hector Bellerin in the second half.

The defeat saw the Red Devils suffered their first home defeat to the Gunners since September 2006 when they ran off with the same scoreline. This is also United’s worst start to the season at home for 48 years.

Also, the loss meant United have lost three of their four Premier League home games so far this campaign with the fourth ending in a 0-0 draw with Chelsea as they sit 15th on the log.

And the 2018 World Cup winner admitted that his error was the key factor in United’s latest Old Trafford setback. He told BBC Match of the Day.

“I felt like I touched him [Bellerin] a bit, I knew I was in the box. I shouldn’t have given a penalty away like that. Maybe I was a bit out of breath, it made me do this stupid mistake.

“We know it’s a poor performance. Myself, I cannot give a foul away like this. I thought I would touch the ball but I didn’t. [I] cost us the goal today with the penalty.”
