The Oba of Benin, HRM, Ewuare II, has banned his ex-sceptre bearer, Roland Omo-Ekhoe Ogbebor from the palace features, together with festivals, shrines and non secular teams over points bordering on land grabbing, and giving directives for unlawful set up of Dukes and chief monks.

The secretary of Benin Conventional Council (BTC), Mr. Frank Irabor, said the punitive measures to journalists in Benin Metropolis Tuesday. He stated the directive for the set up of dukes and monks is given instantly by the Oba with the chiefs and members of the related communities.

The BTC secretary stated such directives by the ex-palace functionary who was discharged in November 2018, provides a misunderstanding that they have been directives from the palace.

Irabor identified that, “the dukes and group heads concerned should current themselves within the palace if they’re harmless and pray to be exonerated.”

He said additional that there had been a number of verbal and written experiences bordering on different fraudulent actions together with extortion by the ex-palace functionary.

He accused the ex-scepter bearer of “parading himself as deputising for palace authority to the extent of being addressed in an abominable method because the second in command to His Royal Majesty, Oba of Benin.

“That is sacrilegious and an abomination punishable by customary legal guidelines of our custom.

“Any individual or village that has difficulty with Roland particularly on land grabbing, extortion, intimidation, impersonation and fraud is suggested to ship written complaints to the secretary of BTC or the police and DSS,” Irabor said.
